Carlson Formetec is an advanced metal forming and manufacturing business located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Tacoma Washington. We operate a 25,000 square foot facility specializing in the hot forming, blanking, machining and chemical cleaning (Etching) of titanium sheet metal. We hold AS9100 “B”, ISO 9001:2000 and NADCAP AS7108 (Chemical Processing) approvals.

Established in 1977, Carlson Formetec’s organization has over 32 years of experience in forming and manufacturing titanium aerospace details. We have a state of the art proprietary forming process that allows us to form complex titanium parts in a fraction of the time needed by most hot forming operations.  

Carlson Formetec relies on personalized customer service, along with our extensive experience working with titanium to aid our customers in all aspects of their titanium needs. Our size gives us a unique advantage in offering competitive pricing strategies and contract management to organizations of all sizes, from very small companies with research and development projects to major airframe and engine manufacturers with multi year contract needs.

Raela Guernsey
President & Co-Owner
Raela began her career at Carlson Formetec in 1984. She started in purchasing working her way through various production, administrative and management roles before becoming the president in 1993. As president, and Co-Owner of CF, Raela is involved in all administrative, financial and human resource issues. 

Dave Hide
Estimator & Co-Owner
Dave started working at Carlson Formetec in 1980 as a Tool & Die maker. He has extensive experience in tool design and engineering, as well as production operations. Dave is currently training our new estimators

Buck Cook
Operations Manager & Co-Owner
Buck is involved in all aspects of our production operation. He oversees our managers and the daily operations. He has 20 years experience in facilitating aerospace productions. Buck's knowledge of manufacturing has helped grow and diversify CF to its current capabilities

Melony Macadangdang
Contract Administration
Melony has been with Carlson Formetec since 1998 and is currently responsible for our entire contract administrative process. She tracks contracts, purchases materials and monitors customer schedules to assist us in maintaining 100% on time delivery. Melony brings enthusiasm and unmatched customer service to our team. Our customers enjoy her positive attitude and attention to detail.

Fran Hooper
Finance Manager
Fran has an extensive background in all aspects of bookkeeping and financials. She has been employed at Carlson Formetec since 2006. Since the start of her employment, among many other duties, she has taken on the task of implementing our new manufacturing software. She has become the companies’ main IT person and is a valuable everyday asset to our “teamwork” concept.

Judy Hale

Quality Systems Manager:

Judy manages all aspects of CF’s quality system. She is responsible for conducting all internal audits as well as our approval audits. She is the direct supervisor for the quality department and trains all employees on our Quality System and Policies. Joining us in November 2007, Judy is our newest team member. She is thorough and diligent in her duties and makes sure we “walk the talk”.

TJ Williams
Production Manager

TJ joined the CF team in 2006. In 2009 he was asked to “oversee” our production flow. He is an excellent supervisor and has risen to the task of Production Manager. He brings his game everyday, which sets a great example to our shop.
