CF Takes Delivery of  HAAS VF5 Vertical Machining Center

August 2005 – The newest addition to Carlson Formetec’s machine shop was delivered and installed in late August. The state of the art HAAS VF5 Vertical Machining Center filled an empty spot in the machine shop alongside the existing HAAS VF4. The machine is an “extended travel” model with 60” of travel in the X axis, 26” travel in the Y axis and 24” travel in the Z axis and was delivered with a HAAS 4th axis rotary table for machining complex shapes and circular parts. The extended travel and 4th axis options have expanded Carlson Formetec’s titanium
machining capabilities allowing us state of the art sheet metal machining capacity.
The accompanying pictures on this page show the machine delivery as it happened.

CF Takes Delivery of HAAS TM1 Vertical Machining Center

September 2005 – In mid September, Carlson Formetec took delivery of a new HAAS TM1 Tooling Room - Vertical Machining Center. The purchase of our newest HAAS machining center allowed Carlson Formetec to dedicate one of our older CNC machines to our titanium sheet metal work cell. The new machine replaces a Comet VMC which is now dedicated to drilling holes and machining indexes within the titanium work cell increasing our efficiency and making the work cell a stand alone entity no longer relying on the machine shop for scheduling purposes.
