Titanium Cleaning (Acid Etch)

To further support our customers Carlson Formetec maintains a nitric/hydrofluoric acid titanium clean line consisting of a Caustic Tank, Rinse Tank, Nitric/Hydrofluoric Tank and a Rinse tank. Our cleaning process is approved by NADCAP to stringent AS7108 chemical processing requirements as well as by major aerospace engine and airframe manufacturers including, Pratt and Whitney, General Electric Aircraft Engines, Honeywell Engines and Systems, Rolls Royce and Boeing.

Our clean line is maintained by our Quality Assurance Department and is monitored daily for etch rates. Our Caustic Degreaser and Nitric/hydrofluoric processing solutions are analyzed weekly against internal specification parameters to assure adherence to customer requirements.

By maintaining our on-site clean line, we do not have to rely on outside sources to clean your parts following our hot form processing. This allows us to better control our production and delivery schedule and to assure you the customer the best service possible.
